The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Solicitor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who enjoys managing a varied and engaging caseload while supporting clients through sensitive and often complex personal matters.
You will advise a diverse client base, ranging from working parents to high-net-worth individuals, offering strategic, pragmatic, and empathetic legal guidance across all areas of private family law.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied family law caseload independently, including divorce, separation, financial remedy proceedings, private children matters, cohabitation disputes, domestic abuse matters, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Conducting matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, including advocacy where appropriate
- Providing clear, practical, and tailored legal advice to clients
- Handling all matters with discretion, professionalism, and sensitivity
- Maintaining regular and effective communication with clients, ensuring they are kept informed of progress and options
- Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, data protection requirements, and internal risk management procedures
- Maintaining accurate and timely file management, billing, and record-keeping
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
- Participating in marketing activity, networking events, and community engagement
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the practice and wider business objectives
Key Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of family law and related procedures
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills
- High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to support clients during challenging circumstances
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- Confidence using case management systems and digital tools
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate
- 3–5 years PQE within a family law environment
- Proven experience of running your own caseload independently
