We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-office law firm with a strong reputation for delivering clear, practical, and client-focused legal services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their Private Client department, specialising in Wills, Probate, and Court of Protection matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to take on an established caseload, with strong support from an expert team. The role includes taking over responsibilities from a senior team member and managing a broad range of private client matters independently.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Deputyship applications, together with the ability to manage ongoing files where a Partner is appointed as a Professional Attorney.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft both simple and complex Wills, including those involving Trusts, with a strong understanding of Inheritance Tax rules.
- Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
- Apply for Grants of Probate and manage full estate administration from start to finish.
- Handle Court of Protection applications and oversee financial affairs for clients where the firm acts as a professional attorney.
- Conduct home visits, hospital visits, and attend probate properties when required.
- Provide support across branch offices as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with SRA regulations.
- Deliver exceptional levels of client care in line with the firm’s standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years’ PQE in Wills and Probate.
- Strong technical knowledge of private client law and relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to manage an independent caseload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client care skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience managing Court of Protection matters and deputyship applications.
- Familiarity with overseeing financial affairs for vulnerable clients.
- Previous experience working across multiple offices or within a multi-branch firm.
