We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established building contractor based in Crediton, delivering high-quality projects across the region.
Their portfolio includes a diverse range of sectors, including education (schools and academies), healthcare (clinics and care facilities), commercial buildings, historic and listed buildings, and wider public sector projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for either a high-level Assistant QS ready to step up, or a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership within a reputable and growing business.
The Role
- Manage project costs from estimate through to final account
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, and valuations
- Administer contracts and ensure compliance
- Manage subcontractor payments and valuations
- Monitor project performance and financials
- Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor
- Strong commercial awareness
- Knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC preferred)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
Desirable
- Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
- RICS qualified or working towards
- Experience within sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial or heritage projects
