The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Solicitor, Conveyancer, or Legal Executive with a strong background in residential conveyancing to join their established team in Exeter. This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied and busy caseload, handling property transactions from instruction through to completion, while delivering a consistently high level of service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on the conveyancing process, providing clear guidance, regular updates, and timely responses to queries
- Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion
- Handling a range of transactions, including shared ownership schemes and new build properties
- Drafting, reviewing, and progressing legal documentation, including contracts, leases, and transfer documents
- Conducting property searches and investigating title and ownership
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, financial advisers, and other solicitors to ensure transactions progress smoothly
- Managing exchange of contracts and completion, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and financial requirements, including Stamp Duty Land Tax
- Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
- Proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimise delays and risks
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer
- Strong knowledge of UK residential property law and conveyancing procedures
- Experience handling shared ownership and new build transactions
- Proven ability to consistently generate £17,500+ in monthly fees
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Confident using conveyancing software and Microsoft Office
- Experience managing a busy and varied caseload
- Professional, approachable, and collaborative team player
Desirable Experience
- Local knowledge or experience within the Exeter / Devon market
- Experience working within a multi-office or multi-branch firm
- Familiarity with the LEAP case management system
Salary & Commission
- Competitive base salary, dependent on experience
- Uncapped commission structure linked to fee generation and performance
