We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering professional estate management, valuation, and advisory services to local authorities and public-sector organisations across the South West.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chartered Estates Surveyor to join a highly regarded estates and valuation team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of estate management and valuation services, managing your own fee-earning workload while supporting wider team and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Property acquisition by negotiation or Compulsory Purchase Powers (where applicable)
- Property disposal via private treaty, tender, or auction
- Taking and granting leases, tenancies, licences, easements, concessions, and other property interests
- General estate management, including rent reviews, lease events, dilapidations, compensation, and improvement works
- Verification of rating assessments, including appeal work where appropriate
- Insurance, capital, and rental valuations
- Asset valuations for accounting purposes
- Scheme and project estimates, appraisals, and coordination
- Supporting planning applications and appeals
- Ensuring work is delivered in line with quality management systems, on time, to budget, and to agreed fee targets
- Managing a personal fee-earning caseload aligned with agreed objectives
- Representing clients at inquiries, tribunals, courts, appeals, and arbitration where required
- Identifying and supporting new business opportunities
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to an experienced Chartered Surveyor with strong public-sector estates experience and a proactive, client-focused approach.
You will ideally have:
- Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an estates-related discipline
- A valid site card (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Extensive experience in a similar or related estates role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong legal knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, compulsory purchase and compensation, and valuation methodologies
- Familiarity with relevant construction and health & safety legislation, including risks associated with asbestos
