Trainee / Recruitment & Growth Partner
Location: Exeter (office-based with some flexibility)
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 DOE + Commission & Progression Opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (30-minute lunch break)
Due to company growth, I’m making my first hire and looking for someone ambitious, confident, and people-focused to join me in Exeter.
This is a unique opportunity to work alongside me as I grow my independent recruitment consultancy. The role could suit either:
- Someone earlier in their career who is ambitious, eager to learn, and looking for structured training (Trainee route)
- Or someone with experience in recruitment, sales, or client services who’s ready to take on more responsibility and help drive growth (Partner route)
Either way, this isn’t a typical “recruitment agency” role – it’s about building long-term partnerships with clients, supporting delivery, and helping shape the future of the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing job boards: writing, posting, and monitoring adverts
- Supporting social media recruitment campaigns
- Resourcing and screening candidates
- Handling admin tasks to keep the process running smoothly
- Making outbound calls to qualify leads and identify opportunities
- Building strong relationships with clients and candidates
- Attending networking events and client meetings alongside me

- Confident, personable, and people-focused
- Ambitious and career-driven, with a genuine interest in recruitment and business growth
- Strong communication skills and happy to engage with clients and candidates
- Comfortable managing a mix of admin, resourcing, and client-facing activity
- Keen to learn, with the drive to grow as the business grows
