Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent garage in Plympton for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join their growing team.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of servicing, repair, and diagnostic work across various makes and models. You will work as part of a collaborative workshop team, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer standards
• Diagnose faults and identify effective repair solutions
• Complete mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, engines, and electrical systems
• Work efficiently to maximise productivity while maintaining quality and safety
• Maintain accurate job records and documentation
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and, where required, customers
• Uphold high standards of professionalism, reliability, and workmanship

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Proven experience within a professional workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
• Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
• MOT Tester (Class 4) qualification
