We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent garage in Plympton for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join their growing team.

The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of servicing, repair, and diagnostic work across various makes and models. You will work as part of a collaborative workshop team, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer standards
- Diagnose faults and identify effective repair solutions
- Complete mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, engines, and electrical systems
- Work efficiently to maximise productivity while maintaining quality and safety
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and, where required, customers
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, reliability, and workmanship
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience within a professional workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
- MOT Tester (Class 4) qualification
